CHHUJUNG KHOLA HYDRO PROJECT

Chhujung Khola Hydropower Project (63 MW 4-hours Peaking) is a Peaking-Run-of-River (PRoR) type hydroelectric project being developed by Sangrila Urja Limited (SUL). The Project is located in Sankhuwasabha district of Koshi Province and utilizes the flow from Chhujung River tributary of Arun River.

Sangrila Urja Limited (SUL) received the survey license for the Project from Department of Electricity Development (DoED) on 23th Sharawan, 2075 (8th August, 2018). The EIA was finalized on 9th Bhadra, 2079 (25th August, 2022) by Ministry of Forests and Environment, GoN on the basis of the field report.

DoED has issued the Generation License for the Project to SUL on 3rd Chaitra 2079 (17th March,2013). SUL has signed Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) on 17th Chaitra 2079 (31st March, 2023). According to PPA, the Required Commercial Operation Date of the Project is 1st Mangsir, 2084 (16th November, 2027).

Sangrila Urja Limited (SUL) has signed the contract for Construction Supervision and Design Support during construction of Chhujung Khola Hydropower Project (63 MW 4-hours Peaking) with Hydro-Consult Engineering Limited (HCEL) on 21st Baisakh, 2080 ( 4th May 2023).
